Don't Lose Your Way

During the season of holiday shopping and particularly in the big cities, it always helps to ensure that you keep your friends close to you so that you don't get lost in the rush. Scarf-tying may not be the most efficient method for doing this, but it is a system practical enough to use, and makes for a fun visual idea.

I was feeling a scarf idea for a New Year's themed piece, and I got pretty busy with travel plans and just recently made a big push to get this finished up. This is a slight continuation of events from the last time I messed with these two character from the second season of Senki Zesshou Symphogear, Tsukuyomi Shirabe and Akatsuki Kirika. More scarf antics ensued since last time they were left, but I think the next time I mess with them, those antics will toned down a bit for more battle ready motions.But I started this mostly as a continuation, but also wanted to slightly revamp the early pieces, as the colors in those seemed slightly lackluster and I wanted to give them more proper polish.

On the note of colors, I had this as a Christmas/New Year's themed idea, and wanted to have lights going on in the background, but not only have them there, but also have them create a bit of backlight on the main characters. I do like the light I placed on the characters, although those lights do seem a bit like they just float vacantly in the background. I had a minor bit of intention of putting extra background details put in, but because I wanted to save that for bigger ideas for the future, start out kind of small for now. Also, I didn't want to rush myself more than I sort of already did, haha.

Still was a fun piece, I really did like how a lot of the lighting came out, as it was something I haven't pushed too much on recently, and hope to continue doing that. Got another year ahead, and bigger ideas to challenge on seeing through.
